It felt very surreal being in the same lodge where Dirty Dancing was filmed all those years ago.
The exterior of the main lodge, the cabin where Baby stayed, the gazebo, the porch where they ate breakfast, the staff quarters where Johnny’s room was, the corner where Baby sat (yep, that famous one) ALL look exactly the same. Unfortunately the lake has pretty much dried up now, which is sad – we were told it started drying up in 1989 – only a couple of years after filming the movie.
It is a beautiful place to visit, so glad we came. Back on the road later today, aiming for Nashville but if it’s too long on the road, we’ll find some cute little town to stay the night in.
This holiday looks so awesome hun!!! Seriously jealous 🙂
