Day 1 of the roadtrip was amazing, such a great drive from San Francisco to Guernaville, passed through some very pretty little towns.
I picked up the hire car from the airport (pretty cool, compact sized SUV) and using my trusty satnav I managed to work my way from the airport, across the Golden Gate Bridge and on to highway 1 to begin this trip. No stress and only 1 wrong turn.
Once over the Golden Gate Bridge, I meandered through coastal towns, a little inland for a bit and then back out to the coast. Stopped off at Hog Island Oysters, a great oyster farm where you can either pick up oysters to go or stop for a picnic. I grabbed an oyster knife, a shucking glove and 2 dozen local oysters to enjoy at camp.
I went hiking today through the Armstrong Redwoods National Park, beautiful, my photos will never do it the justice it deserves. Redwoods are big tall trees, which really look like they could actually touch the sky.
Spent the afternoon chatting and drinking with locals in a cute little dive bar.
Guernaville is so cute and the place I am staying is awesome, Autocamp, a great glamping spot amongst redwood trees.
Off to Humboldt tomorrow, more trees that might be able to touch the sky!
Great photo’s for the beginning of a fantastic trip, love mum and dad, drive carefully and stay safe
