Japow-pow New Year’s Eve 2017

After waking up a little stiff and sore, I braved the mountain once again.

We started off with a run that we were familiar with from yesterday’s lesson, but it wasn’t long til we were trying a few different chairlifts and runs. I’m still trying to master the graceful entry and exit onto and off a chairlift.

I managed to stop one today – how embarrassing. It wasn’t because I fell over trying to get on the bloody thing, I just had my back foot in the wrong position as I attempted to “skate” with my snowboard. “Skating” is your front foot strapped in and the other foot pushes you along – well that’s how everyone else does it, I (as usual) tend to beat to the sound of my own drum and do things a little different. So I looked awkward and out of control so they stopped the chairlift – for what seemed like forever!! Luke found it HILARIOUSLY funny!!! I did not. That then became the joke of the day.

Luke’s snowboarding is coming along great, lots of powder that he powers through. I’m still trying to master linking turns, but am having a lot of fun trying. I’ve just got to stop the fear from kicking in and just go for it.

So, another great day was had.

Happy New Year!!
