Savannah is pretty and full of beautiful live oak trees.
For the 2 nights I was in Savannah, I stayed down on the riverfront where all the action happens. The city is a mix of Charleston and New Orleans. The people are lovely and want to chat to the Aussie Gal that is travelling around the States by herself for the next month – I think some of them think I am a little crazy for travelling the next four weeks solo.
I arrived in Savannah on Sunday Funday. After a little look around it was time to watch some football and try some local delicacies – crab legs! Earl, the bartender was fascinated that I was so far from home and would introduce me to everyone as “Kristyn, the girl so far from home” and happily told them about my travel plans. It was a great introduction to meeting people each night I visited the bar, thanks Earl!
The trolley tour is a fun and interesting way to hear about Savannah and all it’s history – fun Savannah fact (hopefully I’ve remembered this correctly): it was originally settled to provide protection for the english in the north from the spanish in Florida.
The city is full of parks and beautiful garden squares. And as it’s quite small, it’s just as entertaining seeing it on foot with camera in hand.
Now it’s time for New York City – Woohoo!!!
Once again photos tell the story so glad all is progressing so well for you. Love being kept in the loop. Happy days and more fun to follow. Love Mum and Dad. X
