San Antonio, Texas to North Carolina

We finished up our San Antonio visit with a trip to the Alamo and also a Segway tour of SA. Our tour guide, Robert, was awesome and the Segways were so much fun and thankfully no accidents happened.

We left San Antonio on Sunday morning and after two flights, we landed at the cutest airport I’ve ever seen – they even had rocking chairs!

Wilmington is gorgeous. We hung around the historic district on the riverfront of the Cape Fear River.  Sunday Funday afternoon was enjoyed at Hell’s Kitchen, a dive bar showing all the football games. Fun place with great wings :-).

Monday we wandered around and checked out the town. Enjoyed some very delicious food and cocktails. There was even a prawn in my bloody mary!!! We ate at the Pilot House, a beautiful restaurant and also at Elijah’s, another beautiful place.

On Monday night we watched a spectacular sunset and visited another dive bar to watch some more football and chat to the locals. Everyone wants to know what we think about the new Pres Elect. We’ve only met 2 supporters so far and have enjoyed many a funny conversation about politics.

Today we picked up another hire care and started off on our Carolina’s coast roadtrip.

First adventure was the ferry to Southport.

Southport truly is a magical spot. Once we checked in to our beautiful B & B – Lois Jane’s Bed and Breakfast we enjoyed a nice lunch down by the water at the Fishy Fishy Cafe and another beautiful sunset! We’re only here for one night, but I will definitely be back.
