Covington, Georgia

Last night I stayed in the most luxurious Bed & Breakfast I have ever stayed in. It is an old mansion in this little quaint town 30 miles outside of Atlanta Georgia.

It was built in 1836 and each room has been renovated and furnished with a theme from classic old movies (Gone with the Wind, Breakfast at Tiffanys) and one room from the TV show, The Vampire Diaries. All the rooms I saw were done beautifully.

I found out this morning at breakfast, talking to the owners and other guests, just how haunted the old mansion is.

One lady’s jewelry would be moved from where she put it before going to bed, a water bottle that was full nearly empty in the morning, a mother woke up to the sound of someone calling her daughter’s name and that was just last night!!!

Argh, thankfully I saw or heard nothing, but some of the stories gave me goose bumps this morning. Glad I heard them this morning rather than last night – I wouldn’t have gotten any sleep.

Covington is another gorgeous little town built around a quaint little square with a few restaurants, a bar and shops.

I’m heading back over tonight for a special screening of the halloween episode of the Vampire Diaries.

Off to Atlanta tomorrow for my flight out to New Orleans in the evening.
