Sunday Funday in Wilmington

I headed off at 10am for a Brunch and Brews Tour and met another group of wonderful people.

Our first stop, Wrightsville Beach Brewery, we enjoyed peanut butter pancakes for breakfast and my choice of beer was a raspberry sour beer. It was great. We also got a great tour of the brewing process.

Next, we were off in the Port City Brew Bus and heading toward brewery number 2 – Skytown Beer Company. Food was North Carolina BBQ – soooo good, might actually be my favourite BBQ.

Next stop was Bills Brewing, and included more food, this time fried chicken and waffles. Really good fried chicken and I enjoyed another zesty, little sour beer.

Our last stop was back out our meeting point, Wrightsville Beach Brewery where our tour guide left us and our little group decided to stay on for a couple more hours and a few more drinks. This is where conversations got hilarious.

More often than not things here get lost in translation.

So the older couple (about to retire) started telling the other couple (she was my age and her hubby early 50s) that they should visit a beach club and learn how to do the shag . . .

I’m like, you guys have a club for that???

Nope, not meaning the same thing here . . .

So they explained that The Shag was a dance mostly common down along the beachfront towns of the Carolinas – a fun dance where a couple dances together only touching by holding one hand and your upper body remains quite rigid but your lower body (from the hips down) moves very fast. Of course I insisted to see a demonstation.

Our group departed ways and all intent on learning how to master The Shag . . . . Dance!!

Another great day spent with great folk!
