Quick update from yesterday as we didn’t post – we headed up the mountain in the morning to welcome 2018 after we grabbed our usual chicken sushi seaweed triangle for our breaky.
The visibility was not that great but it was snowing and snowing and snowing – which will be great later. I managed to stop the same lift AGAIN, but this time as I was getting off and yep, this time I took a spill not even a metre from getting of the chair – couldn’t even tell you if I stood up or just went straight over. As I tried to quickly scurry away (still one foot attached to my board), the lovely lift guide kept asking, “De ja bu deska? De ja bu deska?” (Are you ok? Are you ok?) and I’m like “Deja bu des, gomenasai, déjà bu des, gomenasai” (I’m ok, sorry! I’m ok, sorry!).
MORTIFIED!!!
We only stayed on the mountain til early afternoon, I headed back to the hotel about 1 and Luke did a couple of more runs – the kid is a GUN on the board. He came back about 1:30 and we were done for the day.
We enjoyed a dinner of a double serve of gyoza and garlic chicken – delish!
Today didn’t start too well for me, we headed off to grab some breaky and was so excited at all the snow that I slipped, and saved myself, for a little second and then I slipped again and ‘kapow’ I hit the road – that looked all nice and soft thanks to the newly fallen snow but it wasn’t deep and my whole arm shuddered as I fell on to my butt!!
Luke thought it was hilarious (after he saw that I was ok). I even laughed and cried – ouch! So much for being concerned that I was going to break whilst snowboarding!!!!
We enjoyed a great day up the mountain with quite a few runs – Luke doing 2 to my 1. Luke took lots of footage on his go-pro as he boarded in thick deep powder.
We found out how we can snowboard back to our hotel so it’s great. Luke worked out the way. We called in for a little break about lunchtime and then headed back out again for an afternoon session. The visibility still wasn’t great today and it was snowing all day, but that gave us so much fresh powder, it almost made it a joy to fall down!
Off to enjoy Mr Burger again for dinner – it’ll be our third time there 👍🏼😀 . . . And it’s still snowing – last day tomorrow so it’s gotta be a big one!!!
So glad the falls have not been serious, enjoy the rest of your time. Love Mum and Dad. XX
