The day started off with a quick run to family mart (convenience store) to get some breakfast to fuel us for the action packed day ahead.
After organising our lift passes we suited up and headed for the snow fields. It took us a while to find where we were meant to meet up but we got there in the end and that is all that matters.
We met our awesome instructor Matt. We started things off slow and one foot in the snowboard to practice getting on and off the ski lifts and basic turns. We then practiced breaking and larger turns. We moved over to a hill and started “linking turns” or going down the hill in S shapes.
Then we had lunch and headed up the chairlift into the actual downhill. We got the hang of it and Aunty Kris didn’t require someone to hold on to anymore. We had a few more runs and we were to tired to continue and it was getting late so we headed back to the hotel.
After taking off our stiff snowboarding boots we had to let the agonising pain in our feet disapate so we chilled out for a while and then got hungry again.
Shibata is where our noses took us. We ordered a plate of raw food and a mini hot plate. We were cooking our dinner tonight… except we were doing it in a restaurant and also paying for it.
The beef was the best i have ever had and i mean it. It was sweet like bacon. A good way to end an exhausting day.
