Well, what can I say but I love being back in New York City. I truly love this place and to be here this time of year is amazing – the place even smells like Christmas, thanks to the fresh Christmas trees that are sold on some street corners.
Arrived at Penn Station and was again in awe of the vibe of this city. It was raining when I arrived and the taxi line was massive so I decided that I could manage the subway with my suitcase, duffle bag and little backpack. After only a couple of mishaps, I succeeded in getting to the hotel. Woohoo, yay for me.
So after checking into the my fav hotel, I headed to my fav bar next to my hotel and enjoyed a couple of cocktails before venturing back on the subway to Madison Square Garden to see Billy Joel in concert – and it didn’t disappoint. He was amazing and brought the house down with Piano Man. I had goosebumps when he played New York State of Mind (even had tears in my eyes). And he is funny, he started singing an Elton song at one point. I’m so glad I got to see him, especially on my first night back here.
The next day I just wandered – upper west side, down 5th Ave, to Grand Central Station (to the oyster bar), Bryant Park, Rockefeller Plaza (to see the Christmas tree) and down around Times Square. Great day!
