Southport (North Carolina) & Myrtle Beach (South Carolina)

Southport is simply the cutest lil town I’ve ever seen.

We stayed at a beautiful B & B called Lois Jane Riverview Inn. Our room was named ‘Miss Mary’ after the owner’s grandmother – the inn has been his family home for years. We were spoilt with Wine and Cheese at 5pm and also to an amazing (but ridiculously BIG) southern breakfast in the morning – French toast, sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes and biscuits. They wanted to give us a little taste of everything southern! So lovely and everyone wants to chat to the two gals from Australia.

We saw lots of places that have been used for filming locations and after being there can understand why this gorgeous place has been used for so many tv shows and movies – simply stunning. I could have stayed forever in Southport.

Our next stop was Myrtle Beach . . .

Myrtle Beach – South Carolina

It’s an interesting place, didn’t rate in my top 10. Reminded me a little of 80’s Surfers Paradise. But we still found nice food and a couple of fun dive bars.

Next stop, Charleston – but more on that tomorrow.
