Roadtripping Texas Hill Country Day 2

Day 2 we hightailed it to Bandera – The Cowboy Capital of the World!!! It’s a sweet little town where cowboys and bikies meet.We found two drinking holes, 11th Street Cowboy bar and Chiken Coop where we met interesting and fun locals. Everyone was Texas two-stepping at the cowboy bar, it was fun place to sit and people watch. We stayed at the River Front Motel which was a rustic cabin close to the Medina River, very clean and nice.

Day 3 (today) we headed to Gruene (pronounced Green), Texas and let me tell you, it is a beautiful little country town with a dance hall for live music, a couple of restaurants and just an all round great vibe. We enjoyed a great lunch at the Grist Mill Restaurant – typical Texan fare (I had ribs, Mel had chicken fried steak) and we’ve checked into the Gruene Mansion B & B for the night – it is simply gorgeous.

We are off to see an album release tonight at the Hall so I’ll share that update with y’all tomorrow!
