Austin – WOW, what an absolutely amazing city. From the music and dive bars of 6th Street to the houses turned into bars on Rainey, life size beer pong, bands serenading us Aussie songs, a hell of a lot of bats and birds – it truly has everything.
Our first night, we hit up the hotel bar first and discussed football and politics with fellow hotel guests.Later we headed down to 6th Street – it’s crazy fun like New Orleans and Nashville. Full of dive bars and live music, we even ended up in Coyote Ugly but thankfully, neither of us ended up dancing on the bar :-).
Day 2 was spent wandering around bar hopping and chatting to locals and tourists. Sunday Funday and lots of football games to watch. We found a new favourite pub to wile away a few hours – The Blind Pig Pub where the two musicians sang us “Downunder” and more political discussions took place. Then it was off to Rainey Street – a street where old houses have been turned into bars.
Day 3 we decided we needed to see more of Austin then just the bars of 6th Street and Rainey, so we jumped onto the hop on hop off bus to see what else there is to see. There are few other things :-), but it didn’t take us long to find our way back to 6th Street and a very cool beer garden with life size beer pong (we schooled 2 guys from Louisiana in a game). We were even and it was down to the last throw and it was my turn, then voila, the ball went straight in. Lots of fun!
All in all, Austin was loads of fun!!!

Looks like soooooo much fun!!! Well done being the beer pong champions, I expect nothing less!! Great photos too xxx
