And here I was thinking “it’s crazy to do New York by yourself” . . .
Today I walked 5th Ave, got proposed to 3 times (one guy wanted a hug, I offered him a handshake), decided it was New York’s Oyster & Reisling Day (unfortunately, I was the only one that got the memo) so I enjoyed oysters at a very cute little oyster bar on 5th Ave, then again at the oyster bar in grand central terminal!
Then when I was leaving the oyster bar in the station, I saw a sign that read “cocktails like the forgotten era” so naturally I had to investigae, then got lost in the lift, had no idea which floor it was on or which floor I got on, then a lovely police officer got into the lift and then gave me my very own NYPD escort to the bar (everyone in NYC is sooooooo lovely and friendly).
Met three crazy locals in the bar that had never left New York and only wanted to talk about all things Australian – does anyone know a comedian called Jim Jefferies????).
Then, after two margarites, a girl shouldn’t be allowed to go into, let alone shop at Tiffany’s (yep, the original, bought a ring and a braclet)! Its nearly as dangerous as a cougar going onto the grounds of Harvard :-). . . . . … . hahaha.
I’ve ridden the subway like a local, looked lost and everyone wants to help, I even got directions off some Amish dude!!
I didn’t do all of the stuff I wanted to do today so tomorrow is going to be a big day.
Off to see the basketball shortly at Madison Square Gardens.
I am soooooooo tired but right now, in this place, sleep is my enemy – I just might miss out on stuff 🙂 I can sleep when my holiday is over.
